We have our July Blog Contest winner!

Congratulations to Jeanne S. from Arkansas. She shared her story "Having fun in Bella Vista"!

          I have friends named Myra and Marv and they play Marbles & Jokers every Sunday night with friends. After they taught my husband Larry and I how to play, of course I had to get a set for myself and was THRILLED beyond belief when I found your beautiful sets.

When we would play with my new set, Myra would just keep saying "Oh, this set is so beautiful". Naturally, when her birthday came along, I bought a set for her. And no one had better touch the "orange" paddle or you may just lose your life, as her favorite color is orange!

Myra and I play against Larry and Marv and we just basically whip the snot out of them almost every time we play. It is so much fun! Sometimes we play until 2:00 in the morning with our jammies on!

Four of us gals went to Hot Springs, AR. We rented a house and we would play until all hours of the night. Can you imagine getting up at 7:00 AM to play Marbles and Jokers, having only gone to bed at midnight? Yes. . . we are "hooked".

We have also "tweaked" our rules a little and here is what we do: It takes an Ace, King, Queen or Jack to come out, but after one is "out", then we can use a Jack as an 11, a Queen as a 12 and a King as 13 spaces. This just adds to the drama.

Here in Bella Vista, people play many games. So one day I took my Marbles & Jokers set to Mahjong and taught four ladies there how to play. Taking our set to a Game Day hosted by our local Altrusa Club had women getting out of their seats to come and look, and watch how the game is played. Soon we will have enough great players to make this an event in Bella Vista that may require a weekly get together for everyone!

We are loving this game and now everyone wants a set like the beautiful one that you make. They are "awesome".
