Hello, and welcome to Wizard Woodwork's new blog page. It has been suggested to us that in order to keep up with the times, we need to start a blog page. Since our entire company consists of just the two of us...this new assignment will naturally fall to me, Denise. Yay, another new hat to wear! But I'm no writer; Ron and I are woodworkers! What could I possibly write about? I've been pondering this thought for a few days now (a.k.a. procrastinating), and I'm actually amazed at the many ideas popping into my head. Here are just a few topics that come to mind:

- How Games Keep the Mind Young (there are some great articles out there)
- Handmade Heirlooms -vs- Manufactured Games
- The Importance of Family Time
- Teaching Children the Value of Winning and Losing
- The Joys and Challenges of being Self-Employed
- Island Life (I know, not really relevant but always fun)!

But one of the things we enjoy the most is hearing all the stories we receive from you, our customers. We get tons of emails about "who-beat-who and how" or "we got our neighbors/parents/children addicted to your game" and so on. So Ron and I thought it might be fun (and much more interesting) to publish some of your stories!

If you have an interesting story or event that involves one of our games, send us an Email or via our Contact Page and title it "Blog Contest" and we'll consider it for our next blog! It can be about a rule you've added or altered on Pegs and Jokers or Marbles and Jokers. Maybe you've tried playing "Edible" Aggravation with the little ones. Or tell us about all the riches you won playing Tripoley, Rummoli or Michigan Rummy. Maybe you've had this game in your family for years and tell us how it came to be.

And we'll even sweeten the deal. Once a month we will pick a winner! If your story is picked for our monthly blog, you will win a $75 store gift certificate to use towards the purchase of one of our games! So all you writers out there, get your pens ready (figuratively speaking) because now is the time to share your best game stories and photos!

I must admit, I was a little hesitant to start a blog page. But now I'm actually looking forward to hearing from all of you; stories of your friends or family game night, and as always stories about the kids! And if you have a subject that you think is blog worthy, send it our way. We look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,
Denise and Ron
